After an explosive fourth Major title win from Denmark’s Astralis in September 2019, CS:GO fans have been wondering when the next Major will take place.
Qisheng (Kisei) is a title sponsored by the Zhongguo Qiyuan. It was held between 1999–2001 and is relaunched in 2013. The winner's purse is 600,000 CNY, which is the highest among the national go tournaments in China. The current title holder (2019) is Lian Xiao. They usually wouldn’t have to wait long, but due to Valve’s newly adopted schedule following the COVID-19 pandemic, the next Major won’t be until later this year.

The first Major tournament of 2020 was meant to take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in May, but it was postponed until a later date. “We’re not going to ask players and fans to risk their health in order to attend a Major while the pandemic still poses a threat to travelers,” Valve said in September 2020.

Once the COVID-19 crisis has simmered down and everyday life is back to normal, CS:GO Majors will run on a biannual schedule.
The first Major of 2021 was meant to kick off on May 10, but Valve made the difficult decision to cancel the event. Instead, the next Major will kick off on Oct. 23.
Announced on Jan. 15, the Major will be hosted by PGL and take place in Sweden.
PGL Major Stockholm 2021 will have the largest prize pool in CS:GO history with $2 million on the line. The Major, for the first time ever, will also be broadcast in 4K 60 frames per second quality.
According to PGL, if “all safety conditions to hold live competitive events are met,” the Major will take place between Oct. 23 and Nov. 7 at the Ericsson Globe in front of a live audience.
PGL Major Stockholm 2021 will be the third CS:GO Major hosted by PGL after Cluj-Napoca in 2015 and Kraków in 2017.
